General Information

The Scientific Library of the International Higher School of Medicine (hereinafter referred to as the IHSM Library) was founded in 2003. It is one of the key departments of the IHSM and is designed to support teaching, educational, and research activities, as well as to provide access to domestic and international knowledge and information. 

As of May 12, 2026, the total number of publications in the IHSM Library is 24,390 copies, including:
•    print publications — 19,265 copies
•    periodicals — 1,296 copies
•    electronic publications — 3,829 copies.

The total area of the IHSM Library is 893.7 square meters. 

The library’s collections are located in the following academic buildings:
•    Main Building (Bishkek, 1F Intergelpo St., 5th floor);
•    Clinical Simulation Center (Bishkek, 117A Lva Tolstogo St., 3rd floor); 
•    Educational and Morphological Center (Bishkek, 114/1 Lva Tolstogo St., 
•    1st floor);
•    Issyk-Kul Campus (Cholpon-Ata, 1A Akin Zhumaliev St., Building 2, 1st floor).

The structure of the IHSM Library includes 3 book storage areas, 4 circulation desks,
and 3 reading and computer rooms with 259 seats.

The IHSM Library’s computer park consists of 303 computers with internet access; free Wi-Fi is available, as well as office multifunction devices (3 units) for scanning and printing academic and educational materials. Library users can listen to and view audio and video materials; there is also a projector and screen for lectures, training seminars, presentations, and other public events.
