ALTI -2025 “Academic Libraries: Trends and Innovations”










Dzhailkanova M.K., Head of Library and Osmonalieva K.A., Librarian of the Scientific Library of IHSM participated in the conference “Academic Libraries: Trends and Innovations” (https://alti2025.auca.kg/ru ), which was held on June 12-13, 2025 in Bishkek on the basis of the Scientific Library of the American University of Central Asia (AUCA), which was the main organizer of this conference.
The conference “Academic Libraries: Trends and Innovations” brought together over 100 librarians and information professionals from countries around the world such as: Bahrain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, India, Oman, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, United Kingdom and USA.
Conference participants discussed trends and status of electronic resources and services, open access and scholarly communication, explored opportunities for future collaboration, exchanged ideas about transformational leadership in academic libraries and the role of library professionals as change agents, and considered strategies for promoting innovation, fostering collaboration, and advancing institutional goals through visionary leadership.
Dzhailkanova M.K. made a presentation on “The International Graduate School of Medicine Library in the Context of Digital Transformation: New Opportunities” during the section “Open Science and Scholarly Communication”, for the first time presenting information about the activities of the Graduate School of Medicine Library at such a high international level.
The conference “Academic Libraries: Trends and Innovations 2025” became a platform for discussing current trends and best practices, as well as promoting innovations aimed at development and sustainable cooperation between library communities in Central Asia and international partners.
The conference sponsors - OSUN, EBSCO, IEEE, MikroInformation, MyLoft, OCLC and Clarivate - presented their resources and innovative solutions for libraries.
Conference attendees also had the opportunity to visit AUCA's Makerspace Learning and Design Center.
Numerous informal meetings were also held during the two-day conference, which facilitated ongoing dialog, collaboration, and exchange of professional experience, as well as the establishment of new partnerships between Kyrgyz librarians and their international colleagues.
