Libraries and the Democratisation of Society: Issyk-Kul 2024

On 1 October 2024, M.K. Dzhailkanova, Head of the Scientific Library of the International Higher School of Medicine, took part in the plenary session of the 22nd International Conference "Libraries and the Democratisation of Society: Issyk-Kul-2024," which was held at the Scientific Library of Kyrgyz State University named after I. Arabayev.

The Association of Electronic Libraries co-organised this conference, which this year focused on ‘The Role of Libraries in the Innovative Development of Culture and Education in the Kyrgyz Republic’ and was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the K. Bayalinov Republican Library for Children and Youth.

At the plenary session of the conference, reports and presentations were given on the following topics:

•    Library projects in digital format;

•    Integration of electronic book publishing and distribution into the library space;

•    Development of blockchain infrastructure in the field of intellectual property;

•    Competence of library staff in the age of information technology and artificial intelligence;

•   Library ecosystem. Development of modern reading culture and information and library infrastructure.

The result of the participation of the head of the Scientific Library of the International Higher School of Medicine in the conference was a discussion:
