Funds
1.1 The library collection includes collections of publications located in all branches of the IHSM Science Library and consists of various types of domestic and foreign literature (educational, scientific, reference, periodicals, etc.) on printed and electronic media.
1.2 The structure of the library fund consists of:
- the collection of educational literature includes editions irrespective of the type and copies to ensure educational and training processes, formed in accordance with the profile of academic disciplines and educational programmes;
- scientific literature collection includes publications necessary for scientific activities;
- reading room fund includes literature on the profile of academic disciplines and educational programmes, scientific and reference literature, periodicals and access to electronic resources of the library;
- periodicals fund includes domestic and foreign newspapers and magazines;
- the collection of books includes compulsory copies of the editions corresponding to the profile of academic and educational disciplines, as well as little requested editions;
- electronic editions fund includes library databases, full-text electronic documents, electronic library systems and other electronic information resources;
- exchange fund includes little-requested and obsolete printed editions intended for book exchange with libraries, for charity purposes and for transfer to interested organisations.
1.3 The content of acquisition of collections is determined by the profile of academic disciplines, educational programmes and topics of research works of IHSM.
1.4 The objects of acquisition for the collections are all kinds of documents of any periodicity, different sign systems, forms of representation, material carriers, meeting the library's tasks and information needs of its users.
1.5 The main sources of acquisition of funds of the library are:
- purchase of printed publications from the budget and grants;
- subscription to periodicals and electronic resources;
- book exchange;
- reproduction (copying and digitisation of printed publications);
- search and downloading of full-text electronic editions on the Internet;
- donations, gifts;
- replacement (receiving books from readers to replace lost books).
1.6. Training, educational and scientific literature is purchased by the library on the basis of written requests of IHSM divisions,
1.7. Periodical literature is purchased by the library on the basis of catalogues of newspapers and magazines of the Kyrgyz Republic and other countries.
1.8 Electronic and digital educational resources are acquired by the library on the basis of licence agreements and contracts between IHSM and the organisation (publisher or company-supplier) of electronic resources.
